artBAM is calling emerging and mid-career artists worldwide to apply for the artBAM Artist Prize 2025. The prize is hosted by konsum 163 contemporary art gallery, located in Munich’s prestigious gallery and museum district, just steps away from the famous Pinakothek museums.

Show your work in a museum-like space with 600 m² of light-filled exhibition area – right next to one of Munich’s major transport hub.
As a finalist (places 1–10) of the artBAM Artist Prize 2025, you’ll be part of an exceptional group exhibition in the acclaimed cultural center Pasinger Fabrik, located in the heart of Munich’s west.

Why Pasinger Fabrik is special
Once a household appliance factory, now a vibrant interdisciplinary arts hub, Pasinger Fabrik combines history with contemporary culture. It offers over 600 m² of exhibition space, flooded with natural light, equipped with professional hanging systems and flexible display options. The atmosphere is museum-like – perfect for presenting painting, photography, installation, sculpture, or media art. Surrounded by theater, music, literature, and performance, Pasinger Fabrik is a well-known cultural landmark in Munich, attracting a diverse audience. Its direct location next to Pasing train station makes it easily accessible to visitors from all parts of the city and beyond.

For the top 3 winners:
You’ll receive a prominent, solo-style presentation within the group show. On August 12, 2025, during the festive vernissage, the artBAM awards will be officially handed over.

During the exhibition, visitors will have the chance to vote for their favorite work. The Audience Award will be determined either via app or on-site voting – and announced at the end of the exhibition.

Whether it’s a casual drink, a full meal, or a summer evening under the open sky – Pasinger Fabrik offers a welcoming setting for artists, collectors, and guests alike. The Audience Award

An extra prize chosen by the public

In addition to the three main jury awards, artBAM presents a special fourth prize: the Audience Award. This distinction reflects the voice of the visitors and celebrates the artist who resonates most strongly with the public.

All ten finalists of the group exhibition at Pasinger Fabrik are eligible for this prize. Throughout the exhibition period, visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite artist – either via our online voting platform or on-site at the exhibition.

The winner of the Audience Award will receive a €500 cash prize as well as a dedicated feature article in our online art magazine 163Mag, including broad media coverage through our digital channels.

The Audience Award will be officially presented at the finissage on August 30, 2025, closing the exhibition with a celebration of public engagement and artistic resonance.

The jury of the artBAM Artist Prize is composed of professional artists, art advisors, and long-time collaborators of konsum 163 contemporary art gallery. They represent the full range of artistic disciplines showcased by the gallery – from painting and photography to installation and conceptual work.

Importantly, our jury spans generations and includes both emerging and established voices in the art world. Each member reviews the submitted works independently – without consultation or influence.

To ensure absolute fairness and transparency, the gallery’s owners and curators are not involved in the selection process of the finalists. Decisions are made solely on the basis of artistic quality and originality.

Entry Fee – One Payment, Full Access

To participate in the selection process for the artBAM Artist Prize 2025, an entry fee is required.

• EU-based artists: €48 incl. German VAT

• Non-EU artists: €40 (VAT not applicable)

The entry fee is non-refundable and covers the full submission process, including the upload of up to 4 artworks via our online form.

Once payment is completed, artists are automatically redirected to the upload page. At the same time, an invoice with the correct VAT information will be sent by email.

Artist Selection Process.
How the Winners Are Chosen.

The selection of the 10 finalists and the 3 winners of the artBAM Artist Prize 2025 takes place in two stages – all handled by our independent jury.

Step 1: Scoring
All submitted applications are first compiled into an alphabetical longlist. Each jury member reviews and scores the artworks independently, based on seven equally weighted criteria (max. 10 points each):

Interaction of form and color / Composition and construction / Gesture and tactility / Concept and creativity / Relation between title and execution / Craftsmanship and material / Emotional resonance

The 20 highest-scoring artists automatically move to the second round. In case of a tie, all artists with the same score proceed as well.

Step 2: Jury discussion
In a group session, the jury discusses all shortlisted works and selects the 10 final artists. From this shortlist, the top 3 winners are chosen through a second round of voting and debate.

Notification:
The 20 shortlisted artists will be notified within 7 days after the submission deadline that they have reached the final round of consideration.

We present a carefully curated mix of emerging and established artists, both national and international.
